Jane was Christened on the 7th March 1848 at St Andrews Uniting Church, Evandale.
Jane lived with her family in Evandale before marrying John Johnstone Matthewson in Deloraine on the 28th March 1873 aged 25 years.
They lived in Evandale after they married and had:
- Male born 1875
- John Henry Douglas born 1876 married Mary Ann Whitehead his 1st Cousin.
Between 1876 -1878 John and Jane moved to Ringarooma where they produced another 7 children:
- Ann Elizabeth born 1878 married James Jetson
- Robert George born 1879 married Cynthia
- William born 1881 married May Marshall
- Emma Jane 1883 married William Green
- Female born 1887
- Ethel Born 1888 died 1900
- Lily Ellen Emily Grace 1890 married Robert John Saunders her 1st Cousin.
Jane and John lived in Ringarooma/Branxholm area until Johns death in 1896. Jane moved to Launceston in 1922 where she was living in a Nursing home until her death in 1930 aged 82.
Robert George Matthewson (son of Ellen) did not marry Cynthia.
ReplyDeleteThere was another Robert George Matthewson born 8/8/1900(my grandfather) who was Robert George sr's nephew. He married my Nan, Cynthia Ball in 1935.
