Robert married Lily Ellen Emily Grace Matthewson in 1907. Lily, daughter of Jane Matthewson (nee Saunders) and John Matthewson, was Roberts 1st cousin.
Robert and Lily lived in Ringarooma for a large part of there lives and had at least 9 children. Robert worked as a Miner.
Robert moved to Launceston around the age of 70. He passed away in 1971 at the age of 88 and is buried at Carr Villa Cemetry. Lily died a few years later in 1974.

ReplyDeleteR U the Robert John on My Heritage? We seem to have a link via COE/ELRICK. Eldest COE in tasmania was a convict from Essex, Daniel. Daniel had 2 families (at the same time) in New Zealand and in Hobart. The Tasmanian one was based in Battery Point. The NZ one is quite interesting, as one of the 2 Daniel COE juniors lived with the Maori around the Bay of Plenty prior to the Maori wars.
