**UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!!!!
New information has just come to hand regarding Johns death and place of burial.
John Saunders child of Robert Saunders and Joan Haynes born in October 1919 in Long Bredy, England. Christened on the 24th October 1919.
John's father Robert was incarcerate and sentenced to transportation to Van Diemens land shortly after his birth in 1821.
John lived with his mother Joan who worked at various places around the Dorset area. In 1841 they were living in Southampton, Hampshire John working as a labourer. In the 1851 census John was living in Burton Bradstock with his mother Joan. He is listed as living in Number 2 Grove House working as a Agricultural Labourer as is his mother Joan. They also had two lodgers living with them David Phillips and Elizabeth Aplin.
It is possible that John married Elizabeth some where between 1851-1861 John appears on the 1861 census in Lyme Regis with Elizabeth wife and Sarah listed as his mother. This may not be correct. Although on the same census 10 years later in 1871 they appear again in Lyme Regis listed as labourers. They were living at number 310 what appears to be Broad Street.
John died around May 20 1872 in Lyme Regis still listed as a labourer. John was buried on the 22nd May 1872 at the Lyme Regis town cemetery. John was buried as a Baptist and his mother Joan was buried on the other side of the cemetery on consecrated ground 2 years later. See photo below of approximate grave site.
On the 30th December 1874 John's mother Joan was recorded buried in Lyme Regis cemetery aged 82.
In 1881 census Elizabeth living at 154 Silver Street, Lyme Regis she is listed as a widower occupation Braider of nets. It does not appear that John and Elizabeth had any children.
Elizabeth appears again in 1891 census living still on Silver Street but this time at number 152, she is 65 years old and listed as living on her own means. On the 8th January 1900 Elizabeth died and was buried at Lyme Regis cemetery aged 74.
